Abstract

The first photograph shows cold frames and greenhouses belonging to the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute (KWI) for Breeding Research in Müncheberg, which appears in the background (1933). The second photograph shows the gardens where edible, protein-rich sweet lupin beans were bred (1934). The third photograph shows Erwin Baur, the director of the KWI, addressing a group of visitors, including racial hygienists Eugen Fischer and Otmar von Verschuer, with whom he discussed sweet lupin breeding.
