Young Islam Conference (2017)

Abstract

The Young Islam Conference was founded in 2011 as a project initiated by Humboldt-Universität, Berlin and the Mercator foundation. Naika Foroutan was one of the initiators. It is a “dialog forum for young people” that addresses “questions about constructive and equal coexistence in an immigration society.” The Young Islam Conference is designed as a network of committed people working for an open and diverse society and against racism and prejudice. This photo by Astrid Piethan was taken in 2017 at the second Young Islam Conference in North Rhine-Westphalia.
