Casa Stefan Zweig/Stefan Zweig Home
Abstract
The Casa Stefan Zweig is the last home of the writer Stefan Zweig and his wife Lotte Zweig in Petrópolis, Brazil. They lived there until their suicide in February 1942. The former residence houses a museum and cultural venue, founded by a non-profit association in 2006 and open to the public since 2012. The Casa Stefan Zweig is dedicated to the memory of the writer and his wife and also serves as a memorial to exiled writers, artists and scientists who were persecuted during National Socialism and fled to Brazil.
